Memorial donations are a meaningful way to express one’s sympathy, respect and love when remembering a family member or friend.

HospiceCenter is always grateful when a family encourages memorial donations be directed to us in memory of their loved one. Acknowledgement to both the donor and family are sent in a timely fashion.

Payments from Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance do not cover all the costs of the programs and services HospiceCenter is committed to providing. Your unrestricted gifts provide significant support for these HospiceCenter essential services:

  • Patient Care Services such as:
    • Grief Support and Spiritual Care for patients, family members and businesses,
    • Children's Palliative Care Services and Grief Counseling,
    • Cost of Pharmaceuticals,
    • Alternative therapies such as massage, speech therapy and music therapy
    • Pain Management such as Infusion therapy
  • Philanthropic Care – no patient is ever denied service for inability to pay.
  • Our Transitions Program
  • Community Education and Caregiver Support
  • Quality of Life Services (patient/family assistance beyond hospice services.)
  • Staff Development

Donating Goods and Services to HospiceCenter

HospiceCenter is pleased to accept certain in-kind gifts and services from the community, such as: medical equipment, medical supplies, vehicles, etc. However, before you deliver any items we ask that you telephone us first, as sometimes we receive more items of a certain type than we can comfortably store for future use. If this should be the case, we are happy to direct you to other non-profit organizations that may be able to use your thoughtful gifts. Please call 541-383-3910 for further information.

The IRS requires the person donating the items to place a fair market value on the items as a tax deduction, if allowable by law. Items of $5,000 or more must be appraised by the donor and HospiceCenter will retain a copy of the appraisal.

Be sure to contact your tax accountant or attorney for definite rules and regulations regarding donations. HospiceCenter will acknowledge your gift in writing for your records.
