“The idea is not to see through one another, but to see one another through.”
C.D. Jackson

Want to make a difference in your community? Over 400,000 hospice volunteers throughout the United States provide essential roles in the care of hospice patients.  At HospiceCenter we see our 130 volunteers as our “heart and soul” and a vital resource in caring for our patients.

Whatever your age, interests or background; whenever you have time, days, evenings or weekends...

...many opportunities are available to help your friends, family and community.  The only requirements are a caring heart and a willingness to give of your time.

Some of the ways you can help!

  • Provide patient support and companioning that can include visiting, running errands, writing letters, shopping, light house cleaning, transportation, minor home maintenance, yard work, or pet care
  • Provide respite care for a family caregiver.
  • Play cards, music, cook a favorite meal
  • Assist in the administration offices doing clerical or computer work
  • Support staff and patients in our Hospice House facility
  • Provide bereavement or spiritual care support
  • Assist with special events

Our initial and ongoing volunteer training is held each month. This comprehensive training program will give you all the tools you need to be the best volunteer possible.  Additionally, if you wish to pursue a specific area of volunteerism such as bereavement or spiritual care, you may elect to complete further training within those disciplines.
