HospiceCenter and Central Oregon Home Health and Hospice announce their consolidation as of January 1, 2009. "Combining our non-profit organizations will strengthen transitional and end of life care throughout Central Oregon," stated Brendan Adams, chair of the Central Oregon Home Health and Hospice Board. “At its core, our decision is founded on the belief that together we can accomplish more for our patients and the community than we can apart. The overlap in mission and future visions, plus a sense that collaboration rather than competition between hospice providers is a community stewardship issue which needed to be addressed proactively.” This consolidation will provide additional opportunities for expanded care and services including pediatric home health and hospice services, palliative clinical services to augment Transitions, enhanced bereavement services for adults and children, increased community teaching and learning, and expanded adult and child family support programs.
